Seth Menachem Psychotherapy

Seth Menachem, MA, MFTI
Individuals, Couples, Families.

I have a B.A. in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. While an undergraduate student, I assisted in a research project in Exeter, England, which monitored how children recognize facial emotions. I then did coursework at University College London where I wrote up the findings of my research along with my research team. In graduate school, I focused on Trauma and Child Studies, and then spent my second year training at Beit T’Shuvah, an inpatient addiction facility working with a variety of clients—many of whom are formerly incarcerated residents on alternative sentencing—who are dealing with an array of addictions.

Having spent 20 years working in entertainment I am very familiar with the unique challenges of working in that industry.

I also have a great deal of experience working with those who have terminal illnesses, and believe very strongly in working through the complicated feelings in both individual and family therapy, as illnesses affect everyone, not only the person who is ill.

Although I work with a diversity of clients, my specialties are:

  • Addiction (Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, Gambling, and other Process Addictions)
  • Trauma (Developmental, Emotional, Physical, and Sexual)
  • Anxiety (Generalized, Social, Phobias, and Panic)
  • Depression
  • Men's Issues
  • Parenting Issues
  • Death and Dying
  • Relationships

Certified and Trained to work with gamblers through CalGETS (The California Gambling Education and Treatment Services)

Member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists)
